MY KURZGESAGT (In a nutshell)
My ferverous tenacity, endless curiosity, and utter determinism to take the least traveled road has created who I am today. Quite simply, as an entrepreneur, artist, and activist for community engagement, I strive to make the tomorrows better than the yesterdays, while taking full advantage of what I am given today.
Eternally curious, Kassandra is an artist, writer, and community-minded serial entrepreneur with a variety of experience in Canada’s not-for-profit and education-technology sectors. Over the years, she has also served in several leadership positions with organizations ranging from Rotary International to the Vancouver Board of Trade and has been part of the initial creation of several legacy community programs including Surrey’s Tour of Industry, Surrey’s Top 25 under 25 awards and the Justice Hack. She has served as an international youth ambassador for Canadian business and entrepreneurship at global summits in South East Asia, Europe, South America and Canada including the G8/G20, APEC and the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Summit through both Global Vision and Futrepreneur. At home, Kassandra lends her insights and expertise to technology entrepreneurs through Klinked Strategic.
Kassandra has studied at the University of Montreal, NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering, and Kwantlen Polytechnic University where she was an active student including sitting on the Board of Governors and the President’s Ambassadorial Team. Passionate about sharing her knowledge, Kassandra has spoken across the country and at international conferences about community engagement, leadership, women in politics, and entrepreneurship and has been recognized for her efforts including as at YWCA Young Women of Distinction nominee. Before the era of virtual conferencing, Kassandra co-founded University Confidential - one of Canada’s largest online publications for helping students transition into university and ran Canada’s largest virtual university fair event.
After several years of critical health challenges in her late 20’s that forever changed how she would see the world, Kassandra decided in 2019 to truly commit to her passion for the arts. Having these challenges created a tabula rasa for Kassandra’s artistic interests which tend to swing between her right and left brain and lie at the intersection of art and technology. Driven by curiosity, the desire to create and mold, and to bring about joy through vivid colours - Kassandra has focused her efforts on the fluidity and calming peace working with air control and alcohol inks brings. She is currently researching her first book - Granville Island: the history and stories behind the Island’s artists and artisans (working title) and is a proud Nichean (residential artist @ Niche Art Gallery located on the island.)
